Students are encouraged to bring in coins on Halloween to add to the golden bathtub. Started in 1988 by now retired English teacher and Interact Club advisor Lewis Lawson, this coin drive funds a scholarship for a Collegiate student with financial need. Lower School students will carry their cups of coins to the Upper School after the costume parade and dump them in the golden claw-footed bathtub which will be moved from the Lower School in time for that event. Since 1990 Tons of Coins has raised more than $231,000 dollars for financial aid.
