Librarians Tea Party

Just to show you I am not controlled by vanity, I am posting this screen shot of a zoom session of current and former Collegiate Lower School Librarians, even though I look dreadful. ( I think I was concentrating on getting the screen shot; that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it.) it took many tries before all of us could get together, one from North Carolina, everyone else housebound in Richmond. We have been trying since last summer to find a time that worked for everyone. It was great to catch up on family, activities and the current state of the Collegiate library. We all agreed, we hope the next get-together is face-to-face!
I feel your pain, trying to find a time that is convenient for us in Australia, my daughter in London and my son in LA is a nightmare

I was a middle school librarian - was actually the first automated school library north of Everett, Wa. I loved my work and loved the challenge of bringing our school library into the computer age, back in the 1980’s. It took a year to barcode and manually enter every book. Loved doing it.

@mamabec I was there at the beginning in our Lower School. We were actually the first division in our k-12 school to automate. I just retired after 31 years.

Screen captures are so hard -- there's always one of us who looks really strange, just at that particular moment. But what a great way to connect.

I feel your pain. My principal has forced me to do zoom once a week with my kindergarten class. It is complete and utter bedlam. -_-

@juliedduncan This was just a “for fun” get-together, so no pressure. I sure feel sorry for teachers on the front lines. Not only are you dealing with new, untested techniques, but you have the potential of parents observing your every move. I think I picked the right year to retire!

@allie912 For sure! Not something I signed up for, and I deeply resent being forced into it. Just praying that next year will be more normal. Although, at this point, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Ah well! We do what we can! :)

It's quite amusing to see the different expressions of concentration on faces on Zoom meets - I've found this on our Thurs eve housegroup session. But not really important in the grand scheme of things.😄😄
