We’ve been having an ongoing issue in the city of Richmond, not whether to have a casino, but where. I agree with the sentiment expressed on this sign. Fortunately the location selected is off the interstate Highway across the James River, about as far from our neighborhood as you can get. The voters will decide in a referendum whether to go ahead with this depressing scheme that benefits no one but the few fat cats running the show.
I agree with you! I didn't understand the reference to racism so looked up the debate in Richmond. I wish people who support casinos would study the communities (like mine) that have them. Often they are voted in amidst promises to help education. I have seen no benefits to our public education system, but I have seen communities decline and people's lives ruined by gambling.
