I am having real trouble trying to get a properly focussed image of these fungi, this is the best yet but not good.

Is the camera set on auto? You have a very wide aperture on this (f/3.3) so the depth of field will be very shallow. That's probably why you're having difficulty?

Not set on auto but the wide aperture could be the problem, thanks for pointing it out. I shall have a go with a different aperture.

They remind me of licorice! Was going to say the same as Peter about the aperture. Changing it would give you greater versatility
