Is over it. I had uploaded a similar shot earlier and noticed some glaring editing flaws and quickly deleted it. After spending way too much time on trying to get the editing right, I am done. Have you ever hated one of your photos...well folks, that's how I feel about this one right now;-).
This shot was inspired by a Sarah McGlachlan song that I used to love when I was in college. I was reminded of it recently when listening to music in the car on our road trip...heard it for the first time in years. I am glad that my hubby was willing to play along and do this shot with me. I only wish that I had taken it in portrait orientation so my fish nets and killer heels would have shown. The dress is one that he gave me back in my college days and 15+ years and 3 kids later it still fits.
Hey ladies...thanks for your comments earlier. I reuploaded the image because I noticed some bad editing mistakes. Whoops. And Michelle...the dress still fits, but not quite as cute on me as it was before. Dang it;-).
Great shot, don't beat yourself up too much, the proccessing is spot on. We are our own worst critics. I used to upload loads of stuff to Flickr then take it all down next day :)
@sadiec Michael didn't think that this shot fit. He wanted me to (and we tried) blindfolding him and tying him up and me leading him. It was a little much, though, and didn't turn out anyway. A cage...ha...I can't wait to see that:). Did you see my urban decay shot the other day? You would like it:).
@tryeveryday It had been in color and maybe looked more hokey. I had spot corrected a few things and it looked like scribbles on here. Oy. Thanks, friend!
I love the look on your hubby's face, happy to be possessed perhaps ;D Congrats on starting your second year. Your album looks awesome, love your sense of humour. I would like to see a low-key shot. I had so much fun with it for my photo a few days ago Creepy Cutie, that I would be interested in seeing what you come up with.
The song is one of my all-time favorites -- love that you took on this challenge! The set-up and cinema-style processing is great. The mood is not so much edgy as endearing -- your expressions say that you're both very happy being possessed by one another!
I love it! I love the way he's looking at you and just the fact that he's such a good sport to pose in your shot! Love the dress and wow, blast from the past! I loved Sarah McLachlan's first 3 cds - they had such different styles, though. I think she was trying to figure out her own sound. :) Possession is such a great song. Fear was my favorite one, though, on that one! Anyhow, great shot! I think it came out really well and you go, for being able to fit the 15 year old dress! Especially post-kids! lol
What a fantastic shot, Amanda. Look at the way he is looking at you. Love it and how cool that you fit into this dress 15 years later and 3 kids later. Good for you. I have not heard the song before but really like it and of course love her singing just about anything.
Awesome shot! I think it's wonderful. There is no way I would fit into one of my old dressed anymore, congratulations on being able to fit into it. You look amazing. I love they way he is looking at you. Love her music, it's timeless. :)
@automaticslim Thanks so much, Andy. Glad to give you a grin. Glad that you liked it enough or grinned big enough to fav:).
@archaeofrog I know...I did in ways, too, but I couldn't get the tones right to be happy with it. It came out much crisper this way. I wanted it dark, too, to be more passionate and more light shade theme appropriate. You nailed your theme shot this week, my friend!
@paul2782 Your comments made my day...thank you. Maybe not so bad afterall:).
@teacheroftwos Thanks, Sarah. Maybe it's that you like the artist's first name;-).
@masosy Love the challenge, Kate. I was trying for low key with this shot, but will go lower this week. Thanks so much for your sweet comments, too. Glad to be your push partner and meet you:).
Blimey Amanda, that dress still fits after 15 years. Well done you!!! I think Hubby should buy you a new dress though!! And as for mentions of fishnets and killer heels, well that just isn't good for my blood pressure!!
@psychographer Aw, thanks, Miss Lisa. It's not quite as cute on me as it was, but...it fits:).
@seanoneill I know. I do have a few new dresses since then. But if this still works, in my closet it stays. It's been quite a few years since I'd worn it. Glad that I spared your blood pressure by keeping the shot in landscape mode;-). Thanks for your comments!
i've hated many of my photos... MANY... but i like this photo of yours! such a fun shot... so glad your hubby was such a good sport about it :) (and congrats on being able to fit into a dress you wore pre-kids 15 years ago - that is one heckuvan achievement!)
I really like this shot, it conveys a powerful message of seduction and playfulness. Sometimes images that are not technically perfect are still outstanding in many other ways,
@cmuir1963 Thanks so much, Cindy! That is what I was going for. When I first uploaded it (and it was in color) my comments were something along the lines of "This is hilarious!" I prefer flirty:-).
@soboy5 I appreciate your comments, Danny. Thanks so much!
@tanja_1211 I've stayed pretty active, I guess. It's not quite as cute as it used to be (clings to the middle more), but it zips and if I suck it in a bit, it looks cute;). Thanks, lady!!
well aren't you such a show off :))))) beautiful couple, dress that still fits, what more do you want? I love this and I can't see what's wrong with it at all!
@amandal - little bit of sarcasm... your comment saying you had wished to have taken the shot in portrait, so that your legs were in shot sounded like you were disappointed, so I was going out in sympathy with you... maybe I should have added a 'Drats' or a 'Darned'?
Hey ladies...thanks for your comments earlier. I reuploaded the image because I noticed some bad editing mistakes. Whoops. And Michelle...the dress still fits, but not quite as cute on me as it was before. Dang it;-).
I've been wanting to use the song but need a cage.
Great pic

@dreamatrix We sure are. I wish that I could go easier on myself and lighten up more sometimes. Thanks for your kind comments and for relating:)!
@maggiemae Not much...he's quite the catch and up for most anything. Thanks, Maggiemae!!
@edie I like it in the end, too. Thanks so much, sweet friend!
@paulien Thanks, lady!

@rockinrobyn Ah yeah;-). Thanks, friend!
@northy Aw, thanks, my friend. The dress doesn't fit quite the same, but I can zip it up and if I suck it in a bit, it looks great:).
@soboy5 I appreciate your comments, Danny. Thanks so much!
Love this one, you captured a great mood and expression on his face =)
@frida Aw, thanks, lady. I kept my legs out of it...not that much of a showoff;-). Thanks again, Frida!
