We had a rough night with Clara who had an asthma issue at 2:30 in the morning. We had run out of her maintenance inhaler and hadn't replaced it due to insurance questions/problems. I took care of that this morning. After getting up with her and trying everything to get her coughing under control for about a half an hour or so, Michael and I were up tossing and turning for most of the rest of the night.
We woke to a lovely layer of snow on the ground, the kids had a delayed start to the school day due to the snow and this wonderful sunrise.
Even though we deal with asthma with the kids, I am so grateful that all in all they are well and healthy and we don't have any serious, life threatening diseases to bear. While I don't prefer having to get up in the middle of the night, I really cherish the times that I can cuddle and comfort my kids when they are having issues and needing me. I feel so necessary then.
It's funny how so much of life and photography is a matter of your perspective. I strive to have a good one with both! And I am so very grateful that mercies come new each morning.
Ok first off... what an incredible shot! WOW WOW WOW! Love the colors and the clouds... everything is awesome!
Second... I do hope your darling Clara is feeling better and returns to her fun-loving self really soon!
Third... I LOVE THIS SONG!! I actually never head these guys sing it before so I really liked their version! One of my all time favorite bands is Newsboys and they sing that one as well. http://youtu.be/Zrc1xHEwtLY check it out if you wanna hear the funky version :)
Have an amazing weekend my dear :) Hugs to you! :) Oh and FAV! Did I forget to mention that before?? :)
How appropriate for this song to be this day!! Lovely sunrise and would bring hope for a happy and healthy new day! I have to say that @kbalychev is such aa nice person!
Beautiful Amanda! This would work for the word of the day, which is'Red'. I have an idea of what you are going through. Some friends of ours had twins that suffered from asthma. As they got older, they are now in their thirtes, it isn't as severe.
Beautiful shot Amanda and I love the commentary here. Our families really are so precious and inspire such a feeling of wonderment when you stop and think about the enormity of the impact we have on our children. xx
This is such a gorgeous shot - the colors are so warm and intense. And I love what you wrote about it all. Incredibly touching. I also love that song, both Jesus Culture and Newsboys versions. :)
How awful for you. I have asthma and three of my four kids also have it so I know how anxious it can make one when trying to deal with it. This is stunning and last year's with the birds flying through is just wonderful too xx
@nadaa They can be. Luckily hers are just bad coughing and not that bad or scary. Thank you, Nada!
@kbalychev You are precious and I so appreciate having you on here and your great comments. Love the Newsboys version, too. What a GREAT song!! Love when it is stuck in my head!! Thanks for the words and fav! And for being so darn nice:)!
@maggiemae Thanks so much, Maggiemae. You are so nice, too:)!!
@sambewitching Aw, thanks, lady! I don't know why...my settings must be off, but they don't look orange in person. More pink and lavender. But I do like it this way, too.
@tbats22 Get up earlier;-). They are so gorgeous. How's the new job going? What are you doing? I am not a morning person at all, but seeing sights like this help make it easier to be up!
@skipt07 I am hoping that she outgrows it. Luckily, hers is typically pretty mild and only around occasionally with colds. Thank you!
@dapinsker Aw, that's a bummer that she has to deal with that. Asthma SUCKS. I hate it. All 3 of my kids have struggled with it over the years:(. Thanks, Marc!
@sparkle It can be. I am so thankful that we have never had any super scary instances with it. My kids are pretty mild compared to how it could be...no hospital visits yet. Thanks for your comments, lady!!
Such a gorgeous sunrise, Amanda. It is so wonderful when your kids are young with the exception of illnesses that occur or are a part of their life. You bring back memories I had forgotten about in your writing. Love it and stay just the way you are and enjoy these years as they go by far too fast.
Love those fiery clouds. The sun rises a lot later here at this time of year, on account of us being on the East side of a steep valley ... shame there hasn't been a pretty one for ages. :-(
@automaticslim Hope that you get to see a pretty one soon. And in the meantime, I will try to post them as I see them for your viewing enjoyment. Thank you!
Beautiful image.
