Zee Snowy Falls by alophoto

Zee Snowy Falls

I went back to our favorite waterfalls (read: only) in the area today hoping to capture it in the snow. I liked the z of fallen branches...see it? Doesn't the snow make things pretty? It totally changes the landscape.

I captured this back in the fall when it was foggy, too: http://365project.org/amandalomonaco/365/2012-11-14
Awesome shot!

hello Amanda L. Really enjoyed taking a stroll through your albums it took me a bit of thunking to come up with a challenge as you have covered alot in your time here. You said when you started this year you would like to learn your camera settings some more and you seem to be doing very well, so for your challenge i'd like you to set your ISO to 100 and your camera to apperture priority mode,set an apperture of 16 and try some in camera movement.you can move the camera up/down side to side,round and round or just walk along as you fire the shutter. hopefully you will come out with some interesting abstract images and discover what works in different light.you can set a limit of 10 shots per go if that helps as it's easy to keep going but not so easy time wise to sort them all out at the end of the day. i hope this is suitable,have lots of fun and good luck : )
February 4th, 2013
P.S if you want some examples http://365project.org/tags/icm
i just had to do the same for my challenge as i'm probably just as stumped as you : )

@paulien Thank you, sweet lady!

@annbo Thanks, Ann. I love passing by it every chance I get!

@pflaume Thankz very much, Liza:)!!

@365inthelifeofjcvogt When are you free this weekend? The snow is MELTIngggggggggggggggggg........................Thanks, JC. It's off of Socialville Foster around the corner from the Fosters entrance to the bike trail if you want to try to find it on your own. Otherwise, I'd be glad to show it to you sometime!

@laurenjessopphotography It's so weird that the fall shot had NO fall color. I guess that it was later this year. This year, I will get the color at the falls. Fall here is really nice! Thanks, Lauren!

@nadaa It really is different. Next year, I've got to get the fall color. My fall photo looked like summer (though the fog was caused by the cold air which we don't have in summer). Thanks, Nada!

@istacy1011 Aw, thanks sweet lady. This year I will actually catch it with fall color (or I plan to/hope to). Thanks for the favs:)!!

@sugarmuser Aw, thanks so much, Sharon. You are sweet!

February 6th, 2013
@kwind Thank you, Kim. Love it there!

@corymbia Thank you, Amanda!!

@soboy5 There was as it was so flippin' freezing. It makes it look blurry a bit, though. Maybe I will try this with a tripod sometime if I have room to set it up. It's right on the side of a road with just a small place that I can stand.

@wadazomo Thank you, Dave. The cold made it steam.

@edie Aw, thank you, Edie!!

@copperheadglass Thanks, sweet lady!!

@paul2782 Thanks so much for the fav and great comments, Paul! I hope to catch this with actual fall color this year.

@fueast Thanks, Alison!!

@tonydebont How funny. Do you still have it? Thanks so much for your kind comments and fav, Tony!

@softbootsailer Thanks, Bob!!

@tamaradawn Love your comments, lady! Zis is what I like to hear:)!

@kbalychev I so should have gone the zorro route in my title. Funny! Thanks, my friend!

@mrmilner Love the challenge and your great comments. I choose to use an 8 aperture, though...not 16;-).

@bdb3471 Thanks so much for that, Brian!

@archaeofrog More had fallen since fall. Thanks so much, my friend!

@skipt07 Thanks, Skip. I may try to find all of the letters throughout the year. Today's shot was an O. I wasn't even trying for that. I also got a v and w today:)!

February 6th, 2013
@aleksandra Aw, thanks so much for that, lady. Not doing much better. Still rather addicted. I need some special gum like nicorete or something;-). I've found lately that photos are life giving to me. I really need to figure out how to make some money at it so it's not just an expensive hobby and seeming time waster.

@helixconcepts Thank you, Laura!!

@darsphotos I like that I can capture the same shot in different seasons. Thanks, sweet friend!

@wenbow Aw, thanks for that, Wendy. You were so sweet for so many comments yesterday, too. Thanks for taking the time to do that!

@wendyhgill It's so funny that my fall photo doesn't look fallish at all (no color). I will have to catch the fall colors this year. Thanks so much, Wendy. So glad to be able to catch the same shot in different seasons to compare.

@katiebrenkert Thank you, mama! You getting much sleep yet? Hope that you are feeling ok and aclimating to life with 3 littles.

@nana2r Of course...hope that you are feeling better about things. I so have my ups and downs with the project...I go through periods of depression, slumps, joy, etc. It is quite a journey. Thanks for your sweet comments!

@anazad511 Thanks, sweet lady! Trying to think outside of the box for cool ways to show the snow.

@dapinsker At least you can mostly wear shorts year round. I really do love the different seasons. It's been 8 years that we've been out of Florida and experiencing more season change and I am still in awe of it and appreciate it so much. I hope that I always do. This year, I must get fall color here and spring buds. Let me know if you all ever want to escape the heat and check out our seasons. Alyne visits here with her son periodically. We got to see her in the fall. Thanks, Marc.

@cmc1200 Me, too, lady. Has your sun come out yet? Thanks, Caryn!

@tanja_1211 Thanks so much for your great comments and fav, Tanja!!

@malc Thanks so much for your comments fav and follow, Malc. Following you back!

@automaticslim I appreciate your kind comments, Andy! I love the place!
February 6th, 2013
@amandalomonaco It is really cool that you have the seasons to capture like this. I am still so behind and need to stop for tonight. Pain in my left arm/shoulder/neck and hand for a month and may need to take a trip to my Dr. I really hate being down but have to let it rest as much as possible.
February 6th, 2013
Popular People!! How exciting!!!
February 6th, 2013
@amandalomonaco No Amanda, too many years too many changes of address. A lot of 'stuff' has been left behind. I don't even have a photo of it.
February 6th, 2013
Zorro appears to have been here!
February 6th, 2013
I missed the Z at first, was entranced by the rising mist.
February 6th, 2013
@tamaradawn :)

@darsphotos Hope that you get some good rest and answers from the doctor. Just do what you can.

@seanoneill I know. I wish that I had thought of that!

@swguevin Thanks, lady!
February 6th, 2013
I see the Z. Very cool.Lovely mistiness from the spray of the water xx
February 6th, 2013
I'm thinking about getting the gutters out and wading in for the ideal shot! What an idea. I can't go this weekend; schedule is packed. I'll let you know when I'm free!
February 6th, 2013
@365inthelifeofjcvogt If you get some, I want to do it, too!:) Sounds like a plan.

@psychographer Thanks, Lisa!
February 6th, 2013
Beautiful photo!
February 7th, 2013
@michaelelliott Thank you, Michael!
February 7th, 2013
Very pretty! I love the way the snow looks and love how the water has the mist above it!
February 8th, 2013
@amandalomonaco Had an appt with a new dentist and got totally whacked out. On top of it, the girl took a pano X-ray and instead of going around my head it hit me in the head. I am ok but huge flare up of my jaw and neck so icing my neck and jaw as the dentist made it really hurt. Makes my arm less painful.
February 8th, 2013
@darsphotos Oh my goodness. That is awful. Never had that bad an experience with a dentist before! Sorry, friend!

@emrob Thanks, Mandy!!:)
February 8th, 2013
I remember this one well! Just to let you know, your link doesn't work anymore....
And I was about to ask why "f-word" is in the tags, but the I clicked on it and figured it out. I'm a dork.
