Hey winter...don't let the door hit you on the rump on your way outta town! See you next year, sucka!
Though I really enjoyed the snow, I was not such a fan of the months of cold and days on end of miserable grayness. Growing up in Florida and living in California, really didn't prepare me for my first winter in the Midwest. I need some blue skies, sunshine (with a bit of warmth) and some greenness stat.
That is all...Happy Spring, ya'll!
Interesting back story: I was nearly attacked by a goose as I went to get this shot and then again when I returned to my car. I must have been near it's nest or something. The thing chased me, hissed and even dive bombed me as I ran off screaming like a little girl. My daughter witnessed this from the car and was laughing at her mama running from a wild, evil goose.
I did laugh out loud but quickly felt awful that you were attacked to get this shot! I just love your commentary. I always look forward to seeing your photos and reading about what you have been up to. This is stunning, the colours are gorgeous.
@masosy My daughter was in the car laughing as I ran from the freakin' thing. It was pretty funny (albeit a tad terrifying). Love that you got a laugh, too!:) Thanks, friend!!
@bardejov Yes, maam. It wasn't too bad, but I am ready for some warmth again and the feeling to return to my fingers;). Thanks so much for the fav:)!!
@rockinrobyn You are sweet, my friend. Thank you!!!
Awesome capture and great composition. You are amazing and you have made me laugh reading what that "thing" did to you. I can picture you and your daughter laughing...
lovely comp and those colours are exquisite! the goose story, is of course, going to become legendary... your kids will be talking about it for years to come ;p
What a gorgeous, gorgeous sky! Like you, I am ready to say good-bye to winter, but temps are supposed to be in the teens here the next couple of nights. And I would love to see a video of you being chased by the goose! :)
Fav'd. Beautiful colours. I hope it is over for you now and that the warth kicks in very soon. BTW not the first story on this site I have heard of getting in trouble/harrassed while taking a photo including electricity pylons. Looks like I need to be aware if I try to take a similar photo.
Oh. My. Goodness this is breath taking!!! I just love the colors and warmth! I am TOTALLY with ya on needing the warmth and sunshine!
And had to completely laugh out loud at your goose chase! They are so protective suckers! ;) glad you are ok! Super Fav for me darling :)
This is a lovely sundown shot.
Now do you see what I am talking about? Tom told me this morning snow for Palm Sunday.......And I see little tiny flakes as I type. Last year we had flowering trees in bloom by this time.
@monkeykid Oh, thanks so much, lady! Appreciate the fav!
@fueast Thanks so much for the fav, Alison. This isn't quite the POV I was planning on...the one I see from the road allows you to see the pylons fading for miles. I need to go back sometime...maybe with cloudy skies.
@johnmnewman It aint urban decay, but it's lovely. Thanks for the fav, John!
@thirtysevenways I had a man approach me once when I was photoing under the pylons. He thought I was with the electric company. Thanks so much for the fav!!

Thank you all so very much for your sweet comments and for laughing with me about the wicked goose that tried to kill me when I got out of and returned to the car. All for a good photo...sheesh. I'd say it was worth it:).
Amanda ... All I can say is "WOW" I bet that a beautiful sight to see!!! I always see sunrises and sunsets as one of God's love letter to me!! This is a total fav for me!!! LOVE IT!!
@worldbiking Thanks so much, lady! It was so pretty to watch.
@sistawood Yes, maam. I like that attitude. I always am in awe of God's artistry, but hadn't thought of it as a love letter. Awesome! Thanks so much for those thoughts and fav. P.S. I've always felt that way when I see a humming bird...so rare, but such a reminder to me of God's love when I need it:).
Gorgeous, gorgeous . . love that line of towers. I have not seen a sunset or a sunrise in weeks. Guess I haven't seen the sun in weeks. Still snow and more on the way. But I also said I was done complaining hmmmm.
@barbsmith Thanks so much, sweet lady. May you see the sun soon. Ours just came out this week. More snow due this weekend. It's spring break! What the heck?!
Such a beautiful shot, Amanda. It has been so beautiful here with a few rainy days but not cold like there. I got bit at our park 3 times by geese. Now they are in mating season so not after me, they are after each other. Glad you avoided getting bit. FAV
@bobfoto This is not helping my screaming girl case any, but I remembered this funny story from earlier in the year. Today I posted a snake (not in the wrapping paper album) that I shot close up without a hint of a squeal). It's being startled that makes me scream, I think. That or fearing for my life as in this case:).
Beautiful sunset scene
@bardejov Yes, maam. It wasn't too bad, but I am ready for some warmth again and the feeling to return to my fingers;). Thanks so much for the fav:)!!
