My running buddy, Jen, told me about a beautiful road that she discovered recently that she thought I might like to go check out for photos. I set out to find it and was not disappointed. Gotta love friends who are looking out for photo ops for you!
I discovered two long driveways that rivaled the horse farm. I loved the leading lines of these country fences and wonder what is around the bend. Can't wait to go back and explore some more without the kids in the car with me.
Just wanna stroll there w/my 5 beautiful girls wearing dainty and colorful floral dresses while singing "Girls just wanna have fun"--and don't ask me pls. who those 5's are ?lol -:)---fav !
@psychographer I think that it is the blossoms of a red bud tree. I had a version that showed a couple, but I went with this one to include the front of the gate or wall. Thanks, lady!!
@adamj Thank you, Adam. Really appreciate the fav. This shot made PP:).
@tonydebont Thanks so much for your kind comments and fav, Tony. So please that this shot was so well received:).
@sistawood Thanks so much for the fav and kind comments, my friend:)!!
@edie Thanks, lady...so cool to be up on PP with you and your sweet swinging princess:).
@congaree Thanks so much for your great comments and fav, John!
@jodimuli You and your singing. You must be like me...I sing all the time. I make up the weirdest songs for my kids..."Eat your food, or your food will eat you;-)" I'm a great mama:). Thanks for you fun comments and fav, Joey!
@thirtysevenways Thanks so much...I think that the PP is pages long and I must have missed it. It's up there again now. Thanks for the kind comments, fav and for letting me know!
@michaelelliott So glad that you like it, Michael. You are rocking Central Park these days. What a great place for photos!!! Thanks for the fav...means a lot:).
@deeganp I had more pink trees in another shot, but went with this one. Thanks so much for your great comments and fav, Pea!
@hollandcrew Thanks for telling me. Gotta love a good friend who also has an eye for photos or photographic places.
@nana2r No, I wasn't running when I went out and found this. My friend told me about the place on our run and I found it while out driving over the weekend. Thanks, lady. I have taken some of my favorites while out on a run, though...this was the best perhaps: http://365project.org/amandal/365/2012-07-30
I really appreciate all of your super comments and thoughts on this shot. Yes, it is a driveway...and YES I would LOVE to live down a road like that. Actually I think that it is a road to a few residences. There is a sign that says private. Perhaps I will get up the gumption to go a little further down to just peek at what is a around the bend sometime (or take a run down there, that may be ok to do?). Thanks again for your support and encouragement!:)
@amandal , I reckon you should run down there because no one will get annoyed with a runner and you can always say you were lost or just that is was so beautiful you wanted to make your run more enjoyable. :)
@barbsmith Thanks, Miss Barb. When I saw this scene and drove past, I moaned. What a wacko, I am. I guess you know you are a photographer when you moan when you see a good shot;-).
So I thought I'd get caught up on commenting, but seem to have spent the whole allotted time reading the comments on this one fab photo! Some thing's gotta give. I have this silly notion that I need o see what's been said before before I can add my 2 cents' worth. And dance I've now invested the time ;^), I'm perfectly happy not seeing the pillar, because it would mess with the composition. This hit the PP because it's visually pleasing. You hit the sweet spot. Nice job!
@squamloon Thanks so much, Jim. Glad that you agreed with my decision to mostly leave the pillar out. I took a bunch with it not there at all...just the fences, but I thought that it gave it a frame of reference or something. Should I have left it out all together? I only wish I had been there at a more magical lighting time of day...
