As I was waiting in traffic this morning, I noticed the great sun flare in this bikers side mirror. I pulled out my camera that I now bring with me much of the time and took a few shots before the light changed. Please pardon any smears...as I probably need to clean my windshield.
Just taking a break from cutesy and pretty and grunging up my project a bit. I really try to keep it mixed up.
And thanks all so much for all of your great comments and faves that got my Solitude photo from yesterday on PP:).
@amandal You are way ahead of me, Amanda. I am still using auto. Too bad you did not still live here as I would go out taking photos with you. What does ramp up the aperture mean?
@darsphotos You can get a flare in auto, too. I did it a bunch last year. Just shoot into the sun. I made the apeture as high as I could adjust it. I am not sure if you can adjust aperture with a point and shoot? It's also called f-stop.
@darsphotos Some p&s's allow you to shoot in manual, but I don't know much about how to adjust that stuff. Maybe check your manual. I seriously got good flares with my p&s. The dslr, didn't do so well though unless I changed the aperture.
@amandal Thank you for your input, Amanda. I will check in my manual and see what it says as I do not see anything on my camera itself. It is interesting how different cameras photos stand out using different settings. It does not have to be a DSLR to get great or really good photos but it does make a difference. They are heavier for me so will probably never invest in one plus cannot afford one. Picked up a P&S for macros on close out at Target and have been playing with that as my Sony does not have any macro settings.
@psychographer I know. It upped it a bit in my editing, but I've just figured out how to make them big when I shoot them. They had been coming out as blobs of light. Thanks, lady!
Awesomeness! Impressive flare. Love all the rays shooting out from it.
Good job, keeping your camera within reach. When I'm driving, my camera case is usually between my legs with the zipper undone. Sounds kind of naughty, but it's not. LOL
@steampowered Thanks so much, Paul. That means a bunch!:)
@happysnap Grunge is good. Embrace the grunge. Too much of anything isn't, though. That is why I try to mix it up! Thanks, friend!!
