Today is my birthday. I was going to do a selfie titled 37 and then I hardly slept last night. Baggy eyed selfies are not the best so it will have to wait.
I took this shot in the place we ate during the meet up last Saturday. I was walking back to the table and noticed the cool smoke and thought "What a great photo op." Then I noticed that Jim was already right in front of it snapping away. He posted his photo yesterday here: http://365project.org/jcarrollphoto/more-photos/2013-06-22. They are very different so I thought I would share mine, too.
This also reminds me of the song "Hot Time Summer in the City."
Gotta get my fire extinguisher ready for my candles tonight. All lit, they will look like this!

@sjoblues I got in on Tuesday and figured my family couldn't spare me anymore to photos. I was gone since Friday. I wanted to come. I had some good animal photos to share, but alas...next month. We need a Cincy meet up stat!

I've gotta say, this shot isn't exactly helping me at the moment. The thermometer here is hovering around 100°. The GOOD news is, it's supposed to be down to 90° by Wednesday. WhooHoo. I'm grateful for small miracles. ;-)

ouch i can feel the heat. this is awesome, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY (belated). what a fantastic way to have celebrated it with great 365 friends. green with envy....i mean red hot with envy....hahaha
@moreyoulessme I actually took this in NYC last weekend. I took so many photos (around 750 over the course of 3 days) and wasn't motivated to pick up my camera for days this week. Perhaps, I will feel more like it this week. It's tough being overwhelmed with so many shots to sort through and edit. And thank you!!
@greenpeg Thank you. I adored the city. I thought I would, but man, I fell in love. Waaaay more exciting a place to take photos of than Ohio!! Must go back! I only wish it were easier/cheaper to get there. Going was my b-day present and one of my best gifts.
I want to see the site of ground zero and the new building and memorial. I also would love to get up in the Statue of Liberty and see Ellis Island. I really need to just live there for a summer sometime, but think that I missed that opportunity a few years back. Dang it!!
