I could not stop singing the song while crossing the Brooklyn Bridge last weekend. I still have a giant bruise on my knee from running into a big metal pole while not watching where I was going. I also still have my heel rubbed raw from blisters from walking around all day. No shoes all week.
I was so glad to see the Brooklyn Bridge as we have the sister bridge, the Roebling, in our town.
Great perspective, geometry and symmetry, love the shapes too.
So sorry to hear about your knee - I know how painful it can be when you do stuff like that to them.
@michaelelliott I had numerous shots with your head photobombing my shot. This one was ME head free. Thanks, Michael. Really appreciate your kind words and fav!!
You lucky lady, you! What I wouldn't give to be there right now. Brilliant shot - I love all the leading lines and that pop of colour from the flag. Fav.
@365inthelifeofjcvogt Thanks so much for that great comment and fav, JC. This camera has really been sooo good for me:). I want to see your NYC shots. I heard you had an off the side of a building one!
@thirtysevenways Thanks so much for that, Andy. I did another version that is b&w and more contrasty. I may post it for fun.
@anazad511 Thanks so much for the kind words and fav, Miss Ana!!
@jodimuli Thank you so much, Joey. It was a sight to see.
@wind_of_the_sothern_sea It doesn't hurt, just looks ugly and bruised. I really beat myself up on the trip. Got horrid blisters from walking and even fell down some stairs. I was a mess. Thanks so much for the kind words and fav!
@denidouble Shew, so it's not just me. I thought I was a real klutz. I guess it makes sense, though. Thanks so much for your kind comments and fav and for making me feel better about myself, Deni:)!!
@jsw0109 Thank you so much, Jeff. Really appreciate the fave!
@fauxtography365 Thanks so much, lady. Really appreciate your kind comments and fav!
@richardsretirement Punk! It would have made a funny photo, I guess! Thanks, Richard! You gotta be quick with the trigger to catch such amazingness (aka my extreme gracefulness).;-)
@adamj I was glad to get a good shot. Your bro photobombed many of mine being right in front of me. I had at least 2 or 3 with Michael's head in them. Glad too to have a slightly different pov from yours that I loved awhile back. Thank you!
@aleksandra You are not kidding! Sheesh. I can't believe that I still have blisters from last Saturday's walk and am still unable to wear regular shoes. Thanks, friend. SO glad we both got meet ups recently. They are the best. I must plan one here.
@espyetta Funny, funny story about the Beastie Boys...We recently watched the movie Magic Mike (I borrowed if from the library). I was sadly mistaken what it was about. For some reason, I thought that it was about Mike D and how the Beastie Boys got their start. I watched hours of male stripping waiting to see them rap. They never did. Boy did I get that wrong. Thanks so much for your comments, for getting my reference and for the fav. And now, thanks for sharing a laugh because of my foolishness.:)
@snaphappy1 I got another one that was a landscape, but it had more of the tarps and construction that made it in. That annoyed me so I went with this one. Thanks so much, sweet lady!
@northy Thanks so much, my friend! I waited for the flag to be right.
Really nice job with the capture and crop on this. I wasn't able to get even one photo without the tarps and construction. Looking at this I would have thought you were there on a whole different day than me. Well done!
@jcarrollphoto Thanks, Jim. There was one slight tarp on the right, but I didn't want to crop anything out. I must have just gotten the right pov. I had another one in landscape that showed more tarps so I went with this one. The tarps bugged me. So glad to have gotten on the bridge...it was one of the things I had hoped to do in NYC!!
No meet up for me so far. I find it so hard to find a day to go in. As with everyone, my photo time fits in around all the other things in life that have to get done.
@nadaa One day hope you can make it. Maybe I can come back sometime for one, too. Sheesh, I wish it were closer and more driveable like Chicago is for me.
Blabber mouth, I wouldn't even have noticed the tarp if you hadn't pointed at it and said "Look! Here it is!" LOL
That is some killer symmetry you got goin' on there. :-)
Sorry about the blisters. I wondered at your decision to take NEW shoes for the meet, but I kept my mouth closed, figuring you knew what you were doing. Blisters SUCK.
@pasadenarose My old shoes absolutely wouldn't have worked. I was so beyond needing new ones. I would have been better off with flip flops in the end. Oh well. Live and learn. Thanks, friend!:)
@bobfoto I meant to say thank you very much, Jason. I loved the flag popping and symmetry myself. I saw a guy walking on the edge while there. What a fool!
@amandal - maybe he was having a bad day? I was going to mention sc but didn't want to be so predictable. And you're welcome.
It was your bnw that lead me here and I was going to comment about how much I liked the bnw for a bnw shot and then I saw your link to the colour and I thought ok, lets take a peek and see what my initial reaction was. I was ready to prefer the bnw. But my coconut internet speed meant that this photo downloaded layer by layer and I saw blue sky and blue sky and steel girder and I thought its okay and then the flag just leaped out, so I had to say something nice about that.
@bobfoto Thanks, J dawg. Did you see my FWP video on FB yet? I even tagged you, fool. Last night I watched the whole thing, they had cut out the end in church. The ending was the best part. Take this bridge here for example...here's a bridge, now get over it. There were a few things that I want to implement in my parenting:).
I think that the death wish dude was just showing off and trying to be cool.
And I thank for your taking the time to write such nice comments.
