Red decided that panhandling wasn't bringing in what she needed to support her photography addiction, so she put on her fancy clothes, tied on her red cloak and stepped out into the night.
I had all of a few moments and shots to capture this. I didn't want to be outside alone dressed in this get up. Happily no neighbors were out, I noticed no twitching curtains and the police didn't make a random patrol of my road like I had feared they might. This would have been a fun thing to try and explain. "Um, I'm dressed like this for a photo project...just doing a selfie, not selling myself, no!"
LOL .. u are a brave woman my friend ... not exactly sure what I would have thought if I was passing by ... love th light and fantastic attitude ... love your spirit :-)
Wow, what a sexy shot, Amanda. You sure push the envelope and do it so well. You do not have to run and take this, you do have a remote thing to take your photo at the click of it at your camera, right? You and your camera. You need to keep up with all that you are doing. Seems you will have to have more than one book. lol FAV
@thirtysevenways Oh my goodness. I've got to get all this crazy out of my system and become a respectable citizen in my next place. But oh how quiet and boring this old retirement community will be without me. How bad is that? That is my current neighborhood. Thanks, Andy:). I hope that this isn't tacky or over the top, you know...
@darsphotos Luckily, I have that remote and no running went on in this shot. That would have been an accident in the making with the heels and wardrobe. That remote was my BEST $8 spent ever, hands down. Thanks so much for your kind support and fav, my friend. Hope that this wasn't in poor taste. I'm feeling a bit of embarrassment about it today.
@cheribug You are the best to make me feel better and fav this right away. It's always a risk to do a shot like this. Hope that despite the subject matter, it was done in good taste. Thanks so much, Cheryl!!
Whoa! I'm going to have to get off the laptop and onto the big screen for this one. I hope you had a trench coat handy for a quick cover-up. Hilarious image.
Amanda, you never cease to amaze me... couldn't get away with something like this in Mumbai even in the dead of night! Red, you are gutsy, bold, super passionate ... a superb idea!
@roseolivia Really appreciate your great comments, idea and fav, Rachel. Thanks so much!!
@rvwalker The cape is pretty covering if I needed it to be. Had I seen the police lights I'd have pulled it around me. It could be a Halloween costume, right?! Thanks, Ross!
@kwind This is about as brave as I will be. Thanks, Kim. Really appreciate your sweet comments and fav!
@adamj Boy was I self conscious going outside like this!! Thanks so much for your great comments and fav, my friend!!
@friend2303 Really appreciate your comments, Vijay!!
@jsw0109 I KNOW!!! Now you see why I was worried about being arrested:). Glad I wasn't seen.
Ha Ha 'Yeah honey - we've heard that old photo-project line before - get in the car!" that is terrific - no piece of bent cardboard with a price list for an extra fav?? grandma turning in her grave - great legs!
@gozoinklings I was considering a cardboard rate card, but then what on earth would I charge and what would I list?! Oh boy...So yeah, no bent card this time:). Thanks so much, lady.
@megmills You are the best. Thank you, Meg. I am so annoyed. Somehow I uploaded the wrong edit!! I had one where the lights in the trees were removed. Shoot. I tried to fix in picmonkey, but couldn't. Oh well. Maybe the selfie will distract from the tree lights;-). Appreciate your sweet fav and comments!
hahaha! you are so funny! and i love your guts to do this in this get up. yes, it would've raised some eyebrows. i love that lighting, care to tell us where it's from? i'm guessing car's headlights. totally like!
@summerfield Yeah, I tried the first without the added light, just the street lamp and it was too dim. My John turned on his headlights for me:). Thanks so much, friend!!!
@bobfoto I was so mortified to be out like this. I steered clear of heavily trafficked areas and was soooooo grateful that no one came home or went outside at this time. I considered going to a place that had a better light, but yeah, didn't want someone to stop (like the police!!).
@amandal Wish I could use a remote but the timer works well. I think this is one of your best to date and not in poor taste at all. You go girl as you have the look and the youth and figure to pull this off, not many of us do any longer that is. Scary to think that back in the day many of us wore hot pants and super short dresses daylight or out at night, not posing like this but just because it was what was in. Very tastefully done.
@snaggy This, my friend, is probably the BEST comment that I have ever received on here. You made my day. Thank you so much for that and the fav, too.:))))
@mikeable Well thanks for the fav, even if you are a bit of a stalker. And thanks for you wee bit of help with the shot, though you gave me hell for it later. I wouldn't have done it without you.
@sugarmuser Oooh, nice idea for future ones. I do have a wolf in mind...Thanks, lady!!
@jdr4690 Thanks so much, Rob. I am pretty brave, but this was pretty mortifying even for me. I have another selfie planned for the week that is in front of a crowd and I will look like a fool. At least I will be dressed normally:). Really appreciate the fav!
@simon0128 Oh my goodness, that would have been an awesome story, had I not been arrested. But pretty glad this time was uneventful. Thanks so much for the fav, Simon!!
@egad That would be the best!! I so want a fun 365 neighbor to be crazy with. Thanks so much for the laugh and the fav, my friend!!
Thank you all so very much for appreciating the humor in this. So so glad that I didn't have to call one of my lawyer friends (Danny:) to represent me after this one!! So fun. Look out for more Red...if I am brave enough.
@cocobella Thanks, Corinne. Appreciate your kind comments!
@seanoneill Yeah. Thanks, Sean. Sooooooo glad the neighbors stayed inside and didn't see me on this night. They busted me during my last outdoor selfie shoot and I was in a tutu and fairy wings. Felt like an idiot. Tomorrow I plan to do a shoot of myself in front of my kids bus stop with the bus parked there. My kids are pretty mortified. Gotta keep laughing:).
@wendyhgill We'll see if I have the guts. Not so sure anymore...Thanks, lady!:)

@edie Thanks so much, my friend. So love coming up with this stuff. But yeah, a little tough to go out like this.
Thank you all so very much for appreciating the humor in this. So so glad that I didn't have to call one of my lawyer friends (Danny:) to represent me after this one!! So fun. Look out for more Red...if I am brave enough.
