Going for a creepier image for Halloween. We were shrouded in fog all morning yesterday and I went to some of my favorite places trying to capture good foggy fall shots. Too bad the bats hadn't been out.
So, who is dressing up for Halloween this year? I'm not. Mike and I are actually signing papers with the bank for the house loan (we found a place this week and are in contract for it!!:). Hope to get out for a bit and take the kids out Trick or Treating, though. We need to stock up on our candy supply. I actually need to dump a bunch that we still have left from last year.

Lovely atmospheric shot. And thanks for the birthday greetings - these are my 4th pair of Aviators - love them, but always end up sitting on them by accident. They don't like that - lol. This pair will reside in its case when I am not wearing them - I'm getting wiser as I get older!
@soboy5 I tell you, man, I stink with expensive sunglasses. I went through 5-6 pairs of Ray Bans over the years and end up losing them, getting them stolen, something. This year, I went with Target cheapies and they are lasting me:). Thanks!!
A lovely muted shot composed beautifully. I've just been looking at this viewed large and at the details and subtleties in the reflections created by the fog and it really is striking. A big fav, one of your best I think. Good news on the home front.

Thanks to you all for your lovely comments about the shot and well wishes about the house. We are very excited for the new place. It sits on a 1/2 an acre and most of it is woods. That will be nice for photos, but I will miss being so close to this wonderful lake. It has been so much of my project this past year and a half. Oh well, on to new things...and I can always come back to visit:)!

@amandal you will enjoy your new place as well, but you are right, may be an adjustment, but you have experience with change. 76 degrees today with high winds coming in tonight and lasting through tomorrow. Went to the park today and it was beautiful. Mork and Mindy are still together but the honkers like Mindy chase Mork off and Mindy gets away from them. Interesting and wish I could take the two home if I had a lake or farm for them. Take care and enjoy your photography. It has been fabulous.

@psychographer I am SUCH a sucker for fog. LOVE getting photos with it. It really makes a scene, I think. Thanks so much for appreciating it, too. This was just subtle fog, which helped with the clarity. Last year I got a similar shot in peasoup fog and it really was different.
