Almost a year ago (one day more), I shot the sunrise from my back deck. I went out like a wild woman in my robe and slippers and stood on a rickety plastic chair to capture what looked like a sunrise on the Serengeti, though there was no giraffe silhouetted by a tree in the distance sadly. Well this year, I am in a new place and my back view isn't as wide open. But I still get to see the sunrise and it is still lovely. Today, I wasn't as bold as to rush outside (it was only 3 degrees F out, which is below frickin' freezing), but I did open the sliding glass window and shoot the gorgeous sun. It's so nice today because we are covered in snow and snow and sunshine is a really pretty combination. It makes the snow sparkle like diamonds. I'll take sunshine to gray any day. And with the sun, it almost makes 3 degrees seem warm. Almost.
We are expected to get to -14 as a low on Monday. Maybe it's in honor of our new year? I think that I will stay in that day. And pray for sunshine:).
What a beautiful shot and always love to read what you write, Amanda. It is really nice here, low of 40 and high in the mid 60's. A sunshine day again with no rain in the forecast. If you send some rain or moisture, I will trade and give you lots of sunshine. Stay warm in the coming days. FAV

@cdonohoue Thanks, lady. I am actually soo soo glad to be here. And very grateful that we had a mild winter for our first one last year. It's cold, but it was HOT in FL. You just stay in when the weather is bad. But oh how pretty the snow is today, right?!
A lovely burst of sunlight. Boy that is cold, your weather has been slingshotting over the Atlantic to us for the last month, but when it gets here it is just rain and wind, but still causing chaos.
@squamloon We found a place back in early November (I think). We had all but given up, added a new school district, went up a little in the price range and boom found this one. It had just been reduced $25K and we were the first to see it. Lovely woodsy neighborhood and the kids are in the school district that my mom and sister work in. In fact, grandma is in my daughter's school and peeks in to say hi to her regularly. We moved on Dec. 7th. A nutty few months and today is the first day of normal in what seems like forever.
