Clara and I played beach today with a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses and our bathing suits on. We played beach in the patch of light on our sandy colored carpet. We even put down a blue blanket and played in the "water" splashing and giggling in the waves.
We played beach while there was snow outside on the ground. Icicles dripping from the house. We played beach in the middle of winter and it felt like we were on vacation. We MUST play beach more often. I think it may become an everyday game.
This is a shot that I wanted to do for my kids favorite DC Talk song, In the Light. Must make more use of the dramatic light in the house and perhaps pose less awkwardly next time;-).
If you didn't see it, yesterday, I posted my 100th selfie on Mad Hatters. 100!! Wowie. Also, we are doing a music theme this week and feel free to join in and tag your music shots: madhatters-music. This is one for the theme and yesterdays here was, too: http://365project.org/madhatters/365/2014-03-03
Great shot! The light is wonderful. Sounds like a fun game! I would say that I would try it, but I was freezing in my house in jeans, wool socks and three shirts. I'm a wimp!!
@egad I couldn't believe that I was comfortable (as I am usually in a shirt, hoodie, jeans, wool socks and slippers. Maybe not 3 shirts. You are a wimp;-). Thanks!
brilliant shot and lighting and such a fun idea! love this. I am happy to do quite a few selfies but I doubt nayone will see me in a bathing suit for a long time, you look fab though :-)
@jo13 Yep. And I am tired out over 2+ years of posting everyday. Tired of winter. Just plain tired. I need to give myself a break. I really did want to do less this year. I'm finding myself resenting 365, not loving it anymore. A break will hopefully do me good. And then maybe I will feel that I can post when I like and such. Not completely giving it up, just forcing myself to post less. I left a hole yesterday. That was hard to do, but yet I didn't want to fill it either. I considered using my Alice falling through the hole photo for the hole. We'll see. thanks for checking in:).
Cut yourself some slack and let a day slide here and there, I'm finding that posting 3/4 days a week is working ok, it allows we to stay in even when I'm out if you know what I mean!
@jo13 Yeah, 3-4 times a week sounds reasonable. We'll see. I think I need a break. Full time for years is a lot. I take it a bit too seriously, too! Getting mad that I can't make PP with 40+ faves. Ridiculous.
@sailingmusic The light is very bright coming in from a skylight and I played with the brightness and contrast until I was happy with it and converted to b&w. I did darken the background to make it black (otherwise it showed my dirty kitchen table;-).
@snackmaster Thanks. I live in OH, there was snow outside and it was freezing, but I had a warm sunspot in the house where my daughter and I played beach in. Thank you!
@kareenking You are sweet. Thanks, Kareen!!
@joemuli I so love soaking in the D!! Thanks! Enjoy the real beach for me, will you?
Love it
@adamj Truly and I wasn't even cold for a change. Thanks so much. More plans for this light. Love it.
@bristolrose Thanks so much, lady!!
@susale @mzzhope Thanks, ladies. Shoot, wish I had thought of this for the theme!!
@deeganp @dandelionmama Thanks sooo much ladies!!!
