Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. Today we gather with our family and friends and share a feast of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, stuffing, how could I forget the stuffing...oh I guess I didn't. Just love that bit so I wanted to emphasize it more I guess.
I am hosting about 20 people this year. My parents, my sis and her husband and his local family. Last year, we were in the throws of moving. This year we are blessed enough to have the space and means to have a big gathering. I love the difference that a year makes.
So today more than other days, I ponder what I am grateful for. And here are a few of them: God, Jesus, my husband, my 3 precious children, my family (parents and sis), coffee, laughter, music, dancing, guacamole and salty chips, dark chocolate, photography and the eyes that it has given me to see more, my friends, the beautiful outdoors, changing seasons, fires, the beach, vacation, beer and photo editing on Sunday nights, the fact that I was not in my van when it was pummeled by a tree this week...I could go on and on...
What are you thankful for? Be blessed today.
Oh van update...it will be totaled and I am car searching now. Excited for the change...hope we can find something soon. I am thinking a sporty van with racing stripes that can fly, but don't know if that is in our budget.
I'm sure many will do what your title says... Wonderful capture. Have a wonderful thanksgiving celebration with your family and friends under your new roof :)
Wonderful find! I'm so thankful for everyday--especially my friends and family. Even though our country is not perfect--I am grateful to live in freedom and to be blessed with so much. Very pretty and funny photo today, Amanda! Happy Thanksgiving!
I am thankful for many things ...one is the opportunity to be here and meet new friends and see their world..as mine is pretty everyday! Happy Day to you and your family!
Great find! Perfect for the day! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful I have a job even though I don't want to be here today: )
Turkey on Saturday!!!!
Love you delightful story of what you are thankful for. what a wonderful idea. Wish we could get it going here in Australia. We have so much to be thankful for, Lovely shot
Your ideal van might be amphibious too? I am thankful that I can still cycle and swim even though my knees won't let me run. Also for Diana who saved my life a long time ago and continues to do so every day. Also... also ... also..... if we can contribute to 365 I guess we are among the lucky ones.
Happy thanks given I hope you had a great family dinner. Love you list of things to be grateful for, you missed 2 health and love, if we are healthy and loved we can do without many things in life but I agree with the rest
What a beautifully adorned display window! I love the garland and arrangements — my favorite colors. The tones in this image say Autumn so beautifully. Had to chuckle at the inclusion of the word "EAT" in this display, like we'd need written instructions on what to do with those gorgeous treats on the platters. Here's hoping your family gathering was blessed in many ways. Your list of things you're thankful for is touching, and so you. I'm thankful for every day that stays within the range of normal!
i hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving celebrations with your family. yes so much to be thankful for, one of them is you. very nice window dressing. i like it!
@lesip One hasn't started yet, but will next month. And after the new year, I will hear about the other. Still home for now. Looking forward to starting a little something anyway. You know, my transmission may have been going so the timing is probably good. Thanks, Leslie!
