Yesterday was a perfect day...weatherwise anyway. Mid 80s, sunny and breezy. Perfect. I had the morning off for the first morning this week (and nearly all summer) with all 3 kids attending a vacation Bible school camp. It was awesome.
I used the time to go to a sunflower field that I photograph every year. But this year it was barren...no flowers but the occasion rogue one among the field grasses. I was disappointed. But then I got in a workout, went home and walked the dog in the loveliness and then spun by the kid's school for their sunflower garden (not a huge field, but it's something).
On the walk I came upon a neighbor's thriving butterfly bush humming with life. Later, I walked over again with Clara and my camera. Last year we had one of these bushes, but in the spring Michael tore it out saying it was dead. I want another sometime.
The day went downhill after the perfect start. Picked them up from VBS and two weren't feeling well. They laid on the couch all day and started getting really sick in the later afternoon. Stomach bug. Clara's stomach hurts this morning and mine was feeling funny in bed last night.
So it's another perfect day, but we are stuck indoors:(. Maybe we can go sit out in the sun later.
Hope that you have a beautiful day.
Oh and this is SOOC with the exception of a teeny tiny scratch cloned out.
Beautiful shot with the bokeh background - love the tiger swallowtails. Do hope your stomach bug was the 24 hour variety and you're all feeling better.
