I've just returned home from being out and about in a boat. Michael and I went on a cruise to celebrate our 15 year anniversary, which is actually tomorrow.
We were gone for 7 days of kids free fun, soaking in the sun and bliss. I still can hear the sweet island melodies, feel the warm breeze on my skin (maybe it's my sun burn that I got the day we got back) and taste the rum punch. Ahhhh...
But back to reality today. Got in late last night after driving all day long. Have oodles of laundry to do and the kids start school tomorrow so furiously preparing for that. Man, reality is hard sometimes. I think tomorrow, when I send them all off, I will go out back and lay in the hammock for a bit and remember.
So glad I got a much needed break. I'll be around but slower and on island time for awhile. Plus I have 744 photos to sort through. I did take more on a cell phone, too, but only had my camera with me for portions of the trip as Mike and I were so active (kayaking, horseback riding, zip lining, snorkling, yoga on the beaching, swimming). What a blast.
So nice to be back though. Love my bed, my home, my family intact. Vacations are nice, but always make me realize how much I love home.
Beautiful capture...I can see myself there right now :-) Sounds like a lovely vacation, but I agree with the feeling of being back home, even if it does get hectic.
SO glad you a great time....bet it was a bit hot. Cruises are fun and gives you a taste of places you may want to go back to. This is a really lovely capture.
@frantackaberry We went to the Bahamas, St. Thomas (St. John) and St. Martin. All gorgeous. I grew up in FL and lived in CA, but am now landlocked. I needed my beach fix. Thank you!
So glad you had a great time and everyone needs a kids free vacation at least once!!! I remember mine and I was single at the time!! First time ever away from my kids!! I still remember as you will too! Each one you ever have. Beautiful place!! FAV!
Oh so glad you enjoyed yourself . Sounds like by Friday it will have seemed months ago. I think sometimes getting away from the normal routine of life really makes you appreciate all that you have. Good Luck getting the kids back in the school routine . My Oh My did the summer go by fast !!!!
Wonderful peek into paradise through those flower covered plumerias!! What an idyllic place, and I am so glad you had a wonderful vacation!! I know how much you love your family, but it is always nice to get away from the reality of daily life! Sounds like it was just the right amount of time, and lots of fun!!
