This week was a heavy one. Emotionally and physically draining.
Mike was out of town (yet again) for a bit of it. He's traveled a ridiculous amount this year and I am hugely sick of it. Work has been busy with 2 events in a day this week, and one next week that had to be redone as the venue fell through at the end of last week. And then I was praying fervently for Dan, my friend's husband, whose situation was very serious and dire.
Dan ended up passing away this week leaving behind his young wife, my friend. It has been so heartbreaking. But Cheri, my friend, handled it with such grace and faith and trusting in the Lord. I pray that if I am ever in that situation, that I could handle it like that. She was an inspiration. I think it really helps when you know without a doubt what is in store after you leave this earth. That takes away all fear, I think.
Anyway, the weekend is impending here...and it's already there in other places. It's looking bright and welcoming and fun. Hope that you have a good one and praying like mad that I can make it there with a grin on my face. A grin like my Hope here.
I came home one heavy afternoon after work and just snuggled with my girl, with my Hope. I needed a little hope that day. And got it along with some sweet photos of my fury black pup.
Oh and I want to thank you for all of your lovely comments, your prayers and thoughts for Dan and for your support of my project. This is one of my joys in my life.
I'll be glad to see the weekend. Hubby home after three days solo parenting will be good. Know what you mean about the travelling. But at least they come home. Perspective and all that.... sorry to hear of your friend. We live in a fallen world and our joy is yet to come when ours tears will be wiped away and our hearts whole again. Enjoy your weekend lively
Very cute image that is counter to what sounds to have been a perfectly dreadful week. Heartbreaking reading about your friend's husband. Enjoy your weekend and your time together.
Very sorry about your loss. I can relate as this week a cousin of mine, him and his wife, lost there three young daughters in a farming accident. I posted something about that on my Wednesday picture
Oh, that's definitely a happy dog smile. Isn't their genuine joy the most wonderful tonic for our down moments (or days). I hope your Cheri has a dog that she can hold in the aftermath of losing her husband.
Love this doggie teeth shot. So fortifying! More importantly, I am so sorry for your troubles and travails, your losses and your struggles, especially regarding the loss of your friend. Words fail, when these events happen. :( Stand tall, as you can. Fav.
@amandal My pleasure! It's always important to make sure that you do look after yourself in times of distress and challenge - you need the strength to shoulder the pain and issues of others. I admire your resilience :)
@bkbinthecity It is true that both you and Brian have had terrible news this week, and I too have a friend who lost her husband this week, though it was not unexpected as it was with Dan. I want you both to know that your tragedies are frequently on my mind and in my prayers. I've never met either of you, yet I care for you both and your sorrows. I agree with you, Amanda, that the grief is in this life only, and the ones who have died are free from it now.
Such a sweet shot. I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your friend. That's very sad. She will need a lot of friendship and support in the coming months, I'm sure. A strong faith definitely helps.x
It sounds like a draining week for sure :( I am so sorry.
Hope you get some peace and solace over the weekend.
