Tony and Judith: A Beautiful Moment and Memory

Tony is a high school senior who is a part of the mentorship program that I am involved in. He's an avid athlete, football, etc. and is 6' 3". He's the one who accidentally drank the water and came down with Montezuma's Revenge on the trip. He also encouraged others to drink the "red juice" as well which became one of our long running jokes of the time there.

On our last day in town, we ran a Christmas Vacation Bible School for the local kids. We played games with them and did crafts, they even had story time and got gifts at the end. You should have seen those faces with the gifts.

I think many of us took a shine to the kids there, some even had a favorite kid. Well Tony, he fell in love with this little girl, Judith. So much so that he was sad to go, depressed to leave his little "daughter." It was sweet to see a young man who is so big love such a little girl. A rather heart melting moment.

This trip, life changing for us all. I wish that I had had such an opportunity when I was still young, too.

See the little pink hat in the background? She was my little special one, the one I held. Such sweet beautiful people, so forgotten, so important!
Beautiful portrait xx
