Gluttony, derived from the Latin 'gluttire' meaning to gulp down or swallow, means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, intoxicants or wealth items to the point of waste. In some Christian denominations, it is considered one of the seven deadly sins—a misplaced desire of food or its withholding from the needy.
The seven deadly sins are a list originally used in early Christian teachings to educate and instruct followers concerning fallen man's tendency to sin. The misconception about the list of seven “deadly” sins is that they are sins that God will not forgive. The Bible is clear that the only sin God will not forgive is that of continued unbelief, because it rejects the only means to obtain forgiveness—Jesus Christ and His substitutionary death on the cross.
Even though I don't really love this shot for it's artistic quality..(lol) it kind of turned out to be a good excuse to eat a cupcake in a really disgusting fashion...so it was fun. :) And to read more about the 'seven deadly sins'. Pretty interesting stuff that the Bible never actually says a thing about "the seven deadly sins". :) Food for thought.....(teehee with the pun!)
