leader of the pack

Before our first hard frost, we picked all of the green tomatoes...some are ripening in the window, but sunny days have been few and far between. Green tomatoes can be used too. Made “green tomato rice”, “green tomato bread” for the freezer and “green tomato bar cookies”. Hope to do some traditional (in the southern USA) fried green tomatoes this week. This is for the current technique challenge- shallow depth of field.
Nice closeup. Great colours and focus.

My dad used to wrap them in newspaper but never the same as fresh off the vine. Nice shot with one ripened and the main focus!

I have heard rumours about eating green tomatoes, but have never done it myself! Are they less sweet? Beautiful shot

Nice shot of the red leader and its green team. I do the Italian way for pickled green tomatoes in olive oil and garlic. It is delicious and keeps 1 year+. See for example : https://carlaazevedocooking.wordpress.com/2016/11/25/italys-secret-condiment-pickled-green-tomatoes/

Oh I was hoping you'd add "Fried Green Tomatoes"!!! Ask Pam @pamknowler what she thought of them! I've never made the extras any other way...they won't be around long enough! And btw, lovely photo as well! (BLT with the one in the front!)

A great image with wonderful focus! Fav and following!
Fried green tomatoes was one of the most delicious meals Louise @weezilou cooked for me last year in Lunenburg! I have tried it myself but it’s impossible to buy green tomatoes in the UK so I used red ones but definitely not as good. @casablanca I can send you Louise’s recipe.
