For ages I've been wanting to get a photo of this train line and just haven't, but today on the way to get some essentials from the shops my other half stopped so I could get a shot.
As you can clearly tell by the trees starting to grow over the tracks, it doesn't get used anymore. It has been closed since 1990 and replaced by a bus to make the short trip.
If it was a planned stop I probably would've worn more appropriate shoes...or not. But instead I was wearing boots with a heel. To get to where I was I had to walk through a couple metres of overgrown weeds, step onto a cement block and onto the track. I then had to try to step over the metal part without falling into the water below. And anyone who knows me knows I'm not the most coordinated person in the world.
@bec01@indiannie_jones@nodecaff@digitalrn@geertje@zferrie@pankaj@4stories@sarasdadandmom Thank you all!'
It's not used anymore. It closed in 1990, there's a train station nearby but heads a different way.
Now it only gets used by teenagers who would rather walk over that than along the proper bridge, and fishermen who tend to sit out on it.
The rest of the track runs alongside the road and it pretty overgrown with grass.
