Behind the scenes

Today I went on a tour of the BFI IMAX projection booth, part of London's Open House weekend. It was incredibly fascinating to learn about the technology, development and work behind the magic that is cinema. And from a passionate projectionist who's been in the business for 35 years.

This is the Avatar film reel. It costs $80,000 and took 36 hours for the projection team to set up.

The BFI IMAX is the second largest screen in Europe. Sigh I love.
Good pic, good info. TFS
