On the Lake.
At the weekend my friend and I went to countryside. It was a small village where asked a local man to give us a boat to swim on a lake. He wasn’t against and let us use his boat… The only thing was … it had no oar. During an hour or two we were in search for this thing and, yes, we had found one. We put our luggage into the boat and pushed from the shore. In 10 minutes we noticed that the boat was leaking. We returned back and found an old rusty mug on a shore and continued our voyage. After several use of the mug its bottom disappeared in the lake water so we went to the shore again and found a small plastic bucket. Everything went on all right up to the moment we came back to the shore, finishing our voyage. I asked my friend to swim on a boat to another side of the lake, prepared my tripod, put my camera on it and switched it on. Then I decided to take my remote switch out of the rucksack, bent to it and when I looked at the cam… it was in the water!!! Oh god! It was terrible! It was one of the most unpleasant thing for some of my last years! When I pull the cam out of the water it… didn't work. At all! I made several tryings to alive it… in vain! It was a mere horrow for me, I think every photographer will understand me. I made several shots mith my mobile phone not to vaste time (you see this shot here) and we returned home for a night. In the morning I tried to alive the cam again. In vain! Besides the wide-angle glass had small drops of water inside which can be seen through it…
Today, on Monday morning I came up to my cam again and switched it on. IT SWITCHED ON!!! The moral of the story may be the following: 1) WATCH you CAM first of all, not other things; 2) Do NOT PANIC at first and don’t switch it on; 3) BE PATIENT and WAIT till the cam and the glass will be completely dried… In conclusion: thanks very much for the Canon manufactures. Sure they must write down these recipe of mine somewhere in their manuals.

Oh no! What a story! Glad your camera is working. I once had my camera in my backpack and threw it on, not realizing the zipper was open. Out flew the camera onto concrete. No more camera! You got a fantastic shot with your phone!

What a pretty scene. Your story was full of emotion too. I was laughing picturing the leaky boat and then gasped when the camera went In the water. So glad things are working again. This trip will be a memorable for you!!

So glad your camera is working! You can put it in a bag of rice to help pull out any remaining moisture...that works very well for electronic gadgets (like cell phones...lol).
This is a beautiful scene taken with your phone!

This is a beautiful photo - and what a story behind it. I am so glad your camera is working again - cameras become like friends after a while - you don't want to lose them.
