This is HMS Victory, Nelson's flag-ship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
I believe it's still a commissioned Royal Naval ship, although now it's in a permanant dry dock in Portsmouth.
The reason for today's photo is I'd arrived in Portsmouth to go to a football game but was a little early, so I thought I'd go down to the waterfront. I was really surprised to see the Naval Dockyards were free to enter so I wondered in and spent an hour looking around.
Must have been a good omen. Portsmouth won their game in the afternoon..!! :-)
