Walking back to the office through Bethnal Green this morning, I noticed the local spray can mob had defaced this piece of work by Banksy with their idiotic tags...
Look closer and you'll notice someone's even chiseled out a bit of brickwork!!!
For me, the jury is still out on Banksy. Yeah, his work can be funny, interesting and occasionally thought provoking, but I still have an issue about graffiti.! Click here for more on Banksy http://www.banksy.co.uk
That's terrible that people would do that. And thanks for sending us to his web page. I like the social critique of his work and will be sharing some of it with my students tomorrow.
While I watched the video, and knew nothing of this man, I confess I think of even the best grafitti art as transitory...sometimes some of it not soon enough! It's an everchanging (city) landscape...
Wow! That's some interesting graffiti. I don't mind the tagging around our city (unless it's on our garage door!), but I don't like to see the gang signs posted everywhere. It usually denotes territories and brings on turf wars. Ah, city life. :-[
i must say it is disgusting to see this display of graffiti all over the cities doesn't matter where you live. and you say some people like it well not me

Its graffiti - he's a graf artist - tagging comes with the territory.
