My first proper attempt at a long exposure shot. Not great, but that's because 1) the bridge I was on vibrated every time a car passed and 2) I didn't pay attention to the focus! Doh!
Still, it's a learning curve and next time will be better.
This was taken at 10pm this evening. Watched the Dutch beat Urugauy 3-2 in the Wold Cup semi then drove down to Beckton to try a long exposure shot using my new tripod.
This is the view of the King George V Dock - the city airport is on the right and the lights of Canary Wharf in the distance.
Dropped my car off at Kwick Fit again this morning - it passed it MOT (thankfully). New brake pads and a bit of a haggle over the headlight problem, £89 handed over and I have a legal car for another 12 months. No explaination about the lights - I claimed there has never been a problem, the guys at Kwick Fit just went "Well, they are ok now"....!!! Hmmmm...
Nice shot. If I was my Dad I'd tell you how he docked in that dock when coming to England for the 1st time as a child (His parents were missionairies in India) but I'm not.
I don't trust Kwik-Fit as far as I can throw them ... Took a car in there once for an exhaust and was told I needed new brake-pads all the way round ... That would be the brake pads I had replaced at a dealership the week before ...!
