Went for a drive after work and found a little wooded area called Cely Woods just outside Rainham, Essex.
The area is a mix of woods and grasslands - which looks really golden at the moment thanks to the great weather we're having over here. Tried to capture the feel with this pic whilst also including the great sky this evening.
Interesting day at work. Me and a colleague spent the afternoon in school talking to pupils about careers. Thing was, these were 8 to 11 year olds who are doing an aspiration project. A little young me thinks to be doing this but it was fun and beats being stuck behind a desk all day.
So it's going to be Spain v Holland in Sunday's World Cup Final. Hope it's going to be a better game than tonight's...
Ha Ha yep.. Colette,,thanks, but trust me, this isn't really too great an area, it's very industrial and flat. Just the odd pocket or two that's not too bad. Although on saying that, jump in the car and 30 minutes later you can be in some really lovely countryside.
I love this shot - so perfectly summery and golden. I agree 8 to 11 does sound a little young for careers advice! Then again, my 11 year old has wanted to be a vet since he was 4 (well, either a vet or a pet shop owner or a zoo-keeper...there's a theme there!)
You've got some really interesting photos (in your link) that I don't see posted here. I like 0041.JPG (no title) very surreal. This one is very pastoral--really beautiful layers
Andy, I've recentley "obtained" a copy of Lightroom 3 from a fellow 365er...because what you mentioned about not having PS and will be switching back to JPEG rather the RAW. If you wish for a copy, let me know and we can disscuss. Picked an old photo so, no one would notice this comment.
I had to do a "Career Day" thing a few months back with a bunch of seven-to-nine year olds. Interesting, innit? :)
Ah, I was happy with the game, I was cheering for Spain.
Cheers
