It's not often I have steak, so when I was out food shopping this evening, I noticed the organic rib-eye's were cheaper than the non-organic so decided to treat myself.
Cooked medium, rested for a few minutes and served with sweetcorn, french mustard and chips. Tried doing something fancy with the chips as you can see...
Felt like a treat after a long day in court where today I started my first day of jury service.
I arrived at court at 9:00am and was shown in to a waiting room and asked to take a seat. Over the next half hour, about 60 people had turned up and we were shown around the courts and watched a 10 minute DVD then sent back to the waiting area to await our names being called.
And there we waited... and waited... and waited.. We sat there for nearly 2 hours before being told we could go to lunch.
At 2pm, 30 of us were called and were moved to another waiting area, big enough for the standard 12 jurors. And there we waited... Eventually, after 45 minutes, we were told the case was cancelled and we were sent back to the original waiting room!
Another hour wait and by now it was nearly 4pm when 16 of us were called. So off we went again to another holding pen, then into court where 12 of us were selected...
Was I picked??? Yep.... But immediately after affirming the case was adjourned!!! So it's back at 10:30am tomorrow for all the fun...
I have had the jury experience. A good book made it pass faster. Now that you are chosen, have fun. Nice focus on the steak, is that a grain of salt on the steak? I like the shallow depth of focus too.
nice photo... this one makes me hungry... thank you for your comment andy... i suggest you use small amount of glue for your "ring photo" but don't have it stay long enough 'cause it may tear the book or the Bible.
Thanks guys, Yep, have made a little dent in Steven King's 'Under the Dome'... already at page 300 of 900!! Constance, yep, that is some sea salt I sprinkled over the steak.. And Elizabeth, don't tell anyone but the rest of the chips were piled up once I'd taken a pic... :-)
Food looks nice ... jury service, arrggghh!! been there got the t-shirt Andy its a long two weeks (if your lucky only two weeks) .. take a good book tomorrow .. have fun..
PS two weeks i was called to two cases which only lasted 3 days all told, hope you have better luck than i did ...
I am a vegetarian, but I think this looks very yum! (I came here by way of the dead followers thread, having lost nine followers today myself and wondering what happened, given also six people I followed - not that I can tell which - have also left my list without my doing)
