It's Durga Puja time, which for many Indians - and especially Bengali's like Sangeeta - is one of the pre-eminent festivals of the year.
It's a celebration lasting a few days so tonight we headed to Upton Park in East London to attend one of the festival's beginning events. A rather quiet affair although I understand the weekend events will be louder and more entertaining...
For Sangeeta, it's really just a chance to dress up a little, put on a saree and a bit of bling and catch up with old friends.
This isn't a technically good shot, but getting late and thought I'd just uplaod a pic SOOC tonight. We are off to a few more events over the next couple of days so will hope for some more interesting shots. More info here on Durga Puja if you are interested http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durga_Puja
As for work... BBC London news were filming at work so got to meet and photograph Alice Bhandhukravi... All in all, not a bad day...
yup, we had the "Daves Mobile Discos" going up and down the streets again last night. My ears have not recovered, lucky the kids sleep through it, have NO idea how!
