Startled Starlings by andycoleborn

Startled Starlings

Startled some starlings this afternoon as I pulled up next to a field, had just enough time to grab my camera and take a quick snap out of the car window.

Not too bad considering this was a rush job. Bit lucky the camera was on my seat next to me, not in a bag or in the boot. Lucky also to have left it on auto setting and not a 3 second exposure or something equally wrong, as I am prone to doing.

Didn't get up to much otherwise... Was a really miserable day, rained almost all day so just did some house work, cleaned the fish tank, watched the grand prix before heading to my girlfriend's for a few hours.

I like very much, Andy

Nice capture. Especially nice since you had to hurry and shoot without any time correct. Know what you mean by rain...here in Seattle too.

Nice, Andy! Good job with the catch. I'm sure my camera would have all kinds of wonky settings....

this is great Andy, have also looked at a negative version with the birds white on a black background which also looks terrific

Cheers guys... @petervanallen Thanks Peter... I did wonder how this might look in negative, but don't have the right PP stuff on my home laptop

@andycoleborn - Andy, why don't you have a look at it on Picnik, you do not have to save the edited version

Very cool capture and really, really like that we only see the birds against the pale sky...no trees, clouds, etc. Very nice.

I saw this on the popular page and loved the simplicity. Your photography is coming on in leaps and bounds and get more interesting as the year goes on.
