After work I intended to pop up the West End to either do some pre-Christmas window shopping or possibly take some photos of the lights in Regent St/Oxford St.
Instead, I just walked and walked, past St Paul's Cathedral and onto Trafalgar Square. As I neared the square I though of fellow 365er, Richard, and his bench shots and I thought I would pay homage with my own version.
I know this isn't Rich's bench ( http://365project.org/rich57/365/2010-10-27), but it was the only one that was occupied. These 2 guys looked like a couple of rough sleepers preparing for another night in sub-zero tempetures. Not sure what the deal is with the umbrellas tho!!
It's been a while since I've walked down The Strand in the evening and I was amazed just how many people are living on the streets - inside almost every shop doorway were one or two guys preparing their cardboard boxes for the night...
The snow has all but gone although what is left around my estate is now solid ice... Bloody slippery and still flippin coooold....
@azza_l cheers mate - have added tag - Hope Rich won't mind me jumping in on his theme :-) @andifree Ha Ha... You could be right.. It's certainly cold enough for more snow
Hey this is great, seen these two on that bench before I think. Shame that so many people sleeping rough though. Great to tag it with mine let's have some more!
This is a great shot Andy....a sort of peek into a private moment but played out so publicly. I noticed these type of people when we were up there on Saturday.....all the bright lights and people rushing by with their shopping bags and they had another night in some doorway. Ha! 21st century!!
Great shot of street life. This photo really tells a story. You were even able to capture the cardboard boxes. Nicely done. Dueling benches is the newest series on 365! LOL
