Fire Water by andycoleborn

Fire Water

Long old day today, up earlyish for the drive down to Portsmouth to watch Pompey take on, and lose, against Hull.

God knows how we lost... Well, pub team defending might have had something to do with it.. Also, as the old saying goes, our strikers couldn't score in a brothel..!!!!

After the game I popped into my parents for a couple of hours before heading back to London in the evening.

Decided on giving the old water droplet shots another quick go tonight. For this I placed a tea-light candle behind a glass and set the tap running.... Took about 50 shots in total... amazing how easy it is to bang off a load of shots so quickly.....

Back to work for most tomorrow after a long festive break... Not for me though... I have an extra day off and don't go back until Wednesday :-)

Been a busy Christmas period and I haven't been commenting much... sorry folks, should be back to normal now....
Lucky! I went back to work today! And I like how you captured both of the water droplets.

January 4th, 2011

January 4th, 2011
Wow... Thanks everyone for all you great comments, always very much appreciated :-)
@bks thanks... All you need is a camera, tap and glass.. that's all I used... keep the tap dripping fairly fast and click away.. Lots of rubbish shots but you'll catch one or two that should be good.

Such an amazing shot! You have inspired me to try this. I visited Portsmouth when my daughter was visiting the UNH campus, and it's a lovely little town. We ended up spending two days there just wandering through the shops and good eating. Very fun!
January 5th, 2011
Thanks again guys for your great comments... @petersonsheri ha ha, this is Portsmouth, Hampshire, not Portsmouth, New Hampshire ;-)... ie England.. not so much a lovely little town, more a hard nosed navy city :-)
January 5th, 2011
@andycoleborn Whoops. My mistake. I should have picked up on that when you mentioned heading back to London "for the evening". ;-)
January 5th, 2011

January 5th, 2011
Love the picture. Gonna try and have a go myself. However, am very new to the photography world and just getting used to my Nikon. Here goes......
