I'm officially DSLR-less at the moment as I returned the D40 my Dad gave me a couple of years ago back to him. Although I have been carrying around the works D5000 most days..
I've become a bit paranoid about using the works camera so much for my own use and a bit worried it might get damaged when I'm out and about... Plus I would be needing one whenever I was on leave or away from work for a few days.
So, despite not really having the cash, I bought myself.... drum roll... Yep, you guessed it,a D5000....
I couldn't afford the next model up, the D5100 and I didn't like the feel of the model below in the range and to be honest, the D5000 pretty much delivers everyhting I want...
I hadn't actually planned on buying anything today, but stopped in Best Buy to pass some time and saw it was the managers special, for £422.98 (yeah I know, strange price!!) and just had to have it..

Footie season started today.. Pompey snatched a creditable 2-2 draw away at Midddlesbro thanks to an injury time equaliser..

Last minute equalisers away from home always leave you with a nice warm feeling ...a bit like getting a new camera :)
I'm dreading our new season, our attacking prowess is limited to kevin davies and ivan klasnic, neither of whom inspire confidence in me for the forthcoming campaign !

Congratulations!!! I love mine! I got mine right after the 5100 came out. The 5100 has a couple of nice features not included in the 5000 but nothing I couldn't live without and the price was perfect on the package for my 5000! Enjoy!!!

I just bought a 5100 when we were in Singapore...the end of the great singapore sale and I had waited and whined for so long I finally took the plunge. now i just have to work out how to use it instead of just point and shoot it!
