Member of Parliament for Bermondsey & Old Southwark, Simon Hughes, was guest speaker at works AGM this evening...
Whilst my boss seems impressed with what he's saying, my two other colleagues in the background look less so..
He was there talking about the upcoming benefit reforms and the need for more housing in the UK..
Even though he's deputy leader of the Lib Dems (who are in coalition power with the Conservative party) it was interesting to note when he said the Government, he meant the Conservatives, when he said us, he meant the Lib Dem party....
Benefit changes are going to hit people hard here in the next 2-3 years... Reform is needed but it's going to be a rocky ride...
Amazing to know £200 billion is spent on benefit each year, £130billion on health and £70 billion on the military...
