This wish of tranquility is for all my new friends on 365.
In the night we has a HUGE storm in this area. There was torrential rain, deafening thunder and fork lightning horizontal across the sky. Talking to friends today it seems to have woken everybody up and we've all been at our respective windows around 4am watching the magnificent spectacle.
On waking this morning, all was quiet and this lovely moon hung in the sky, tranquil and beaming as the birds started stirring.
Peace to you all and thank you for all your encouraging comments over these first dew weeks. I'm so happy to be part of this supportive and wonderful gathering of talented, enthusiastic and positive people.
By the way, this has shown up that my main camera's clock is out of true! Actually taken 7.24am, handheld on my rather chilly patio. Clock correction on the job list for tomorrow!
I was confused why my pictures were always a day behind a couple weeks ago. Instruction manual out!
Great definition in the moon (manual shutter speed selection?) and it looks big against the skyline considering the size of lens. Nice!
@billabonga I did indeed manually select shutter speed and tried a whole range before I got it right. I also underexposed deliberately as the sky was actually getting light. If I exposed correctly, the moon was just bright white so underexposing also brought out the definition.
What an amazing shot! I love how the moon looks and love the silhouetted building. Congrats on reaching 1 month! Here's to 11 more! :) Oh, and this is a fave for me!
I am as amazed as everyone else. Do you give lessons?
My first thought as I looked at your lovely picture was "The Sea of...."? Congratulations on 1st month. 365 does get you.
