One road from Horton-in-Ribblesdale ends at the tiny hamlet of High Birkwith and, unless you have friends there or are supporting walkers on Pen-Y-Ghent , there would never be any need to drive it but it affords the most wonderful view of the edge of Ingleborough and Whernside.
