Very interesting. When my sister and I were kids, if ever we saw a structure with pipes or tubes etc and we didn't know what it was, Mum would say it was a treacle mine. The treacle was mined underground and forced up and along the pipes and tubes until it ended up in jars. I seem to remember my sister was about 13 before she realized that Mum was making it all up. ha ha. So there you go, it is a treacle mine.
