The road into Mitchelton Winery at Mitchellstown, near Nagambie, Victoria.
I liked the lines in this with the sense of kangaroos bounding across them. I just missed a shot of actual kangaroos crossing so the shot I was after was the kangaroos and the sign! Next time!
The road was actually the old Port Phillip Road, from Melbourne to Sydney which, in part, followed the western bank of the Goulburn River. Mitchellstown was, at one stage, the first stop along the road from Melbourne and the first overland mail was carried along this route by coach in 1838. This route was superseded by the Hume Highway (now the Hume Freeway) as the main route north from Melbourne, passing through Seymour and bypassing Mitchellstown.
Behind the 'Watch out for kangaroos' sign are old cork trees, some used for earlier wines from this winery.
Yes, always on the alert, particularly at dawn and dusk @yaorenliu
The kangaroos were there but I just wasn't fast enough! @cwbill
Thankyou both @ludwigsdiana @haskar
