Its so hard if you are a bit different to the other kids, you desperately want to fit in, but they shut you out!....To be different as a child can be a hard, lonely path to tread!.....Be strong.....The time will come when you will be proud to be different!

I attended a charity luncheon today (during my lunch break from work) and, standing next to the other girls who were there likely on their own dime, rather than corporate dime, I suddenly felt out of place, like I forgot to bring my fake tan, my botox, my breast implants, my nude 4+inch heels and my party girl dress. Some things never change......
Great shot and narrative, too! Even so called "grown up" women want to fit in and be just like everyone else! I just don't understand it, myself! Better to be loved for who you are than to be loved for who you are not.

It's a good shot of what happens everywhere! I feel (from experience) that being on the outer of the 'group' actually makes you stronger within yourself. You learn to be happy with yourself!

I agree with you that it is so hard to be young and different. And wish that all kids who feel left out could know that your differences really will be appreciated when you grow up.
