Paula Havaste IMG_9431

It was The Night of the Arts in Helsinki, I heard interviews of authors in book stores, poems read by the writer himself, choir music by the choir Näsin Ääni in the Cathedral, Russian music in the yard of the Orthodox Church and many street musicians, I ate cake in the City Hall, chicken soup by the Cathedral and blinis by the Orthodox Church. And I saw an exhibition of paintings in Crypta Cafe under the Cathedral. I saw also lots and lots of people walking around, not all of them sober.
The area of cake scenery was some square meters. I got a piece of the lake. The cake was as good a home made cakes are.
The author here with the microphone is Paula Havaste. She is talking about her new book which is set in the 40's. I am definitely going to read it. I like her books.
This picture happens to have enough red for the theme.
What a wonderful evening this must have been! You've experienced some lovely activities lately! Such a nice photo you got to commemorate the evening, and a big splash of red. too!
