Inha, Ähtäri - 1918 Memorial

Inha, Ähtäri: The memorial for the men who were executed here in 1918. "Comrades, your journey ended here." Luckily my maternal grandfather Herman Puromäki was saved by a farmer who said that the village needs a blacksmith and he must not be killed. Of course I do not know for sure if he was just here among the group part of which was killed. This place is quite near his home anyway.
An interesting picture

What amazing history....such a beautiful place marking a horrible event. Why were they killed?
