I visited The Museum of Natural History in Forssa and saw there Merlins (Falco columbarius). My brother had one as a pet in the 50's. A boy had robbed 3 small ones from the nest and gave two to his friends. The friend found it too difficult to feed the chick and gave it to my brother. We succeeded in feeding the bird and it grew up. My brother used to walk 4 kms to the lake with his fishing rod and the bird on shoulder to get some fish for the falcon. In the autumn it migrated or somebody shoot it because it was too tame..
