The memorial plaque for the Finnish War Children

The memorial plaque for the Finnish War Children at Hämeenlinna Railway Station. 4000 children left for Sweden through this station and most of them came back later. The number of war children who were sent to Sweden, Norway and Denmark was 80000 and 15000 of them never returned. Among them were four cousins of mine. My aunt moved later to Sweden too. The two youngest remained in the families they were sent to. By the time the war ended the girls had already forgotten their mother tongue Finnish. So I write to my cousin in Swedish.
