Espoo Cathedral

Espoo Cathedral in Espoo - The church was originally designed in the late 15th century by an unknown "Espoo master" and built between 1485 and 1490 under his supervision. The only remaining parts of the medieval church are the eastern and western parts of the nave.
What a beautiful old church. I like the lighting in this photo and the "starry" floodlight. Very interesting information as well, it made me search for Espoo on Google. How wonderful is this website that we can find out so much about the world? Fav!

Whenever we travel, I'm drawn to visit a graveyard, as there's a bit of history there, and there's a quiet beauty about them. This is lovely, and interesting to my eye for the names that are common in your part of the world!

@Weezilou These are mostly Swedish names as Espoo (Esbo) had earlier a big Swedish-talking population, now only 8 %. Finnish-speaking are now about 90 %.
