Grey-headed Junco by annepann

Grey-headed Junco

This is one of the four sub-species of the Dark-eyed Junco in North America. The only one I had previously seen was the Slate-colored form, which I see a lot of every winter. Photo taken in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, where they live year round.
Great shot! Love how he's hiding in the grass!

You really captured him despite his efforts to hide!

I like this shot. Catchlight in its eye in spite of the camouflage. I guess the bird thinks it is invisible.

So many you've caught on your trip - like the way he's tried to be camouflaged.
