So in one of my local shopping malls I was shopping and as I did I was taking photos with my Nikon - lensbaby composer attached - a security guard heads towards me and I just stop and look at him -
"Are you working in the Centre?"
"No, I am taking photos of the Christmas decorations."
"Oh"
( I told a slight fib as I was also taking photos of many things that caught my eye lol )
I smiled and walked off - noticed him behind me so stopped and took a photo of another random decoration and disappeared into a very busy H&M store hahahahahaha
~what an idiot!
Fun photo. great security guard story. I one similar from the summer. oiy! I suppose they need to justify their existence but I'm sure you don't fit the profile of a creepy mall-stalking criminal. well...almost certain. I suppose @gigiflower and @graemestevens might know better.
Brilliant shot and good to know you didn't get arrested. I find it is best to tackle the security people too. I have done it a couple of times and they tend to walk off, not knowing what to say next. It also pays to laugh and say "You're kidding" too when they say you can't take photos.
Deb didn't do so well, she got escorted out of Chatswood shopping centre in Victoria by security for taking photos. Mind you she did have a tripod with her too, ha ha.
@creampuff they do and with the lensbaby it makes for interesting shots @graemestevens thank you Mr S - I was mesmerized by the shiny things hahaha @salza thanks Sally - it does colour up the shopping centres
@onewing hahahahaha so remember - no tripod! Many of the security folk I noticed were a sandwich short of a picnic - a couple not so - you need to size them up before you speak LOL

thank you so much for the wonderful words - the bokeh is courtesy of the lensbaby - it creates all sorts of interesting effects - I was hoping for the bokeh to turn out and pleased I focused the other bits ok too lol
This came out really cool! I never knew that they balk at any photo taking in stores and malls until I started taking pics of a mod mannequin with half a head once in the mall... Saw a security person coming so just snapped one more pic and kept walking . The pic looks like opening scene from sci fi movie
