This month my theme will be all creatures great and small....I will be taking new photos but also using some from earlier dates - I have some busy times coming up.
So this is more an ocean shot than an animal one but it was excitement plus when as we were driving along the coast heading home after a weekend south my daughter yelled I saw a whale! We came down the hill and pulled into the beach - jumping out of the car all eyes to the water we shouted gleefully as a humpback breached not too far out. I don't have a super zoom but was still pleased to get this image - just being there was a thrill. My guess is it was a mum and her bubs as usually the whales going south returning to Antarctica are much much further out. They were playing in the water in front of us moving fairly slowly for about 20 minutes - the best whale time I have had.
Oh my! How cool! To think that you could see them without being on a cruise (the only times I’ve seen them - smile). This is awesome. I love the surfer guy too, he’s watching pretty intently! Big big fav for me. Lucky you and your daughter! 😊
